Pathways to Success brings together community scholarships administered by the New Haven Schools Foundation for students graduating from any of the four high-school programs in California’s New Haven Unified School District. Donors set award amounts and some criteria, so one application can match a student to multiple opportunities, but not every applicant qualifies for every fund.
For the class of 2027, the portal lists an opening date of December 15, 2026, and a closing date of January 31, 2027. Students submit one general online application through AwardSpring, with one required reference and up to two optional additional letters. The system initially matches applicants to scholarships for which they appear eligible; some require supplemental questions or documents.
The official guide notes that individual awards may require a reference, essay, or other materials and that sponsors review applications online. The calendar separates submissions from decisions: sponsor review runs February 1 through March 1, decisions are due March 15, and announcements are scheduled for April. The $294,500 figure refers to awards made to students in 2026, not a promised 2027 budget.
If selected, claiming funds requires another step: the foundation asks for proof of enrollment in an accredited two- or four-year college, or a technical or vocational program, plus records in AwardSpring. Its claiming guide says processing may take about 30 days after a complete file arrives. Keep your email current, save your class schedule and student ID, and verify the claim deadline for the specific award.
Confirm the academic year, local deadline and time, who must submit each document, and whether supplemental questions remain. Keep confirmations and recheck the portal after submitting. Ask the school’s financial-aid office how FAFSA, outside awards, and payments coordinate.
Read the aid-program profile and the FAFSA guide; confirm with the institution how funding is coordinated.
