Nevada Promise helps Nevada high-school graduates starting at a community college in the state system. It is last-dollar aid: for up to three years, it can cover base registration and mandatory fees not paid by other federal or state grants. It does not necessarily cover books, housing, transportation, or optional charges. Unlike Nevada Millennium, it is not primarily a merit GPA scholarship; it adds an orientation, mentoring, and community-service pathway administered by participating campuses.

Application combines an entry-year deadline, college admission, and campus-specific follow-up steps; requirements change by cohort and can include FAFSA, required orientation, mentor meetings, and volunteer service. State law reduced the service-hour requirement and created an alternative path for some students legally barred from filing FAFSA if funds remain after FAFSA applicants are considered. Check your campus’s instructions and graduation cohort before relying on the award.

Aid is credited to the college bill, and the amount depends on the balance after gift aid rather than a fixed cash sum. NSHE describes the opportunity for recent graduates, but deadlines vary by campus and cohort; as of October 13, 2026, check with CSN, GBC, TMCC, or WNC to see whether the next cycle is open. Confirm which courses qualify, whether you must re-enroll each term, and which mentoring steps remain for renewal.

Before accepting, compare the final balance with tuition, fees, and other aid; confirm the rules with the official source and ask the college financial-aid office for guidance.

Read the official program profile and FAFSA guide; request an individual review before enrolling.
