Idaho LAUNCH helps high-school graduates enter education and training programs connected to in-demand jobs in the state. The state page describes a grant covering up to 80% of eligible tuition and fees, capped at $8,000; for programs lasting 12 months or longer, up to $4,000 may be used in the first year. It is not a living-cost scholarship and does not automatically pay rent, transportation, or meals.
The application for the class of 2027 is listed as open from September 30, 2026, through April 15, 2027, with a November 30 priority date and Career Pathway Plan due by May 31. Applicants must be Idaho residents, graduate that year from a public, charter, private, homeschool, or GED program, be under 21 on April 15, and begin an eligible in-state program the following fall. FAFSA is not required for this grant.
Eligible careers and providers change by graduating class; search for the exact credential before committing to tuition. Apply through Scholarship Idaho, and remember that an initial offer may be contingent until the state verifies residency, graduation, and enrollment. The portal says students cannot receive Idaho LAUNCH and the Idaho Opportunity Scholarship simultaneously under rules for recent cohorts; compare both routes and ask the state office if you receive an offer from more than one program.
Before accepting aid, verify in writing who may apply, what costs it covers, whether it renews, and how it interacts with FAFSA and other scholarships. Confirm dates in the official portal and ask the college for your remaining net cost.
Read the program profile and FAFSA guide; ask for an individual review before committing.
