Grow PA is a state grant designed to connect college aid with occupations Pennsylvania identifies as in demand. For 2026–27, it offers up to $5,000 per year for as many as four years to students in approved associate or bachelor’s programs at participating institutions. PHEAA publishes specific CIP codes: an occupation sounding in demand is not enough if the exact program is not listed.
To qualify, you must currently live in Pennsylvania, file FAFSA, meet satisfactory academic progress, and not already hold a bachelor’s degree. You must enroll at least half time in an eligible program leading to an in-demand occupation. Complete applications are processed first come, first served while funds last; the published 2026–27 deadline is January 7, 2027.
The post-graduation commitment deserves careful attention. By signing a promissory note, you agree to live and work in Pennsylvania in an eligible occupation for as many years as you received the grant. If you do not meet the work or degree requirement, PHEAA may require repayment, with applicable interest. Read the agreement before accepting money, especially if you may move or work outside the state.
Check your CIP code against PHEAA’s list and confirm that your institution participates for this cycle. Then submit through PHEAA Account Access, not GrantUs, which is used for other programs. Keep the promissory note, provisional approval, and employment forms; compare the grant with Pell and campus scholarships and request a written estimate of your remaining balance.
To begin, identify the program administrator and the financial-aid office that certifies your enrollment. Review the program profile and requirements; for an individual account, also use the responsible state agency. Before accepting funds, compare the award letter with an itemized campus budget.

Information checked on October 12, 2026 against official sources. Eligibility does not guarantee an award: funding, deadlines, and college requirements can vary. Confirm the cycle, outstanding tasks, and net cost directly with the agency and your institution’s financial-aid office.
Grow PA can fund a specific career path, but it carries a residency and employment obligation: verify your CIP code and promissory note before accepting.
