At El Camino College, Foundation scholarships serve students with varied profiles: academic achievement, financial need, leadership, community service, campus-club affiliation, and international-student status appear among fund criteria. For Fall 2026, the college reported that nearly 675 students received more than $1 million in scholarships; some awards covered tuition, fees, and textbooks. Those previous-year results do not predict the 2027 award amount or number of recipients.
The 2027 application is open and closes Sunday, December 20, 2026. Students apply through MyECC by signing in and choosing Scholarship Application under Quick Links. The college advises applicants to review individual criteria and submit even though some awards may require additional responses or evaluations. The school publishes essay guidance, but each fund may impose specific requirements, and awards are made after spring-cycle review.
Before starting, students need MyECC access and should confirm that their admission or enrollment status allows them to use the portal. The scholarship list includes international students, but that does not mean every fund is open to every nationality; individual criteria control. Complete FAFSA or CADAA for the academic year when applicable and ask the office how awards coordinate with Pell or other grants. Keep the submission confirmation and monitor campus email because some steps may follow the initial application.
Before applying, confirm that the school and program fit your situation and that the application window is current. Gather transcripts, FAFSA information, essays, and references; keep a copy and submission receipt. Track the application deadline separately from supporting-document dates. After submitting, monitor the portal and email until the file is marked complete. Ask the financial-aid office how the award coordinates with FAFSA and other scholarships, and do not budget funds that have not been awarded.
When comparing options, confirm whether the benefit is a scholarship, grant, tuition waiver, or loan: they are not all repaid or applied to the same charges. Request a written estimate of the balance after FAFSA and other awards, check renewal terms, and do not sign a loan thinking it is a scholarship.
Read the program profile and the federal FAFSA guide; confirm with the administrator how the aid coordinates.
