Delaware Inspire Scholarship: tuition support at Delaware State University

Inspire is a four-year tuition scholarship at Delaware State University for qualifying Delaware high-school graduates; immediate enrollment, GPA, and community service requirements apply.

Delaware State University (DSU) describes Inspire as a tuition scholarship for Delaware high-school graduates who enroll there immediately after graduation. It is not portable to any college: DSU is the participating institution, and initial enrollment must be in the fall after graduation.

DSU lists a diploma from a Delaware high school, regular admission, full-time enrollment in the immediately following fall, at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA, and a FAFSA. Students must also meet the program’s conduct rules. State law describes study leading to a bachelor’s degree; ask DSU about homeschool equivalencies and how it reviews an individual file.

The university advertises tuition coverage for four years, or up to eight consecutive fall and spring semesters; summer is excluded. Do not assume it pays housing, meals, books, course fees, or every charge: request a written comparison of tuition and total cost of attendance.

Apply to DSU with an official transcript and complete the FAFSA using school code 001428. Ask Financial Aid to confirm Inspire in your package and the service calendar. To renew, DSU requires at least 12 credits each semester (15 recommended), a 2.75 GPA, ten community-service hours each semester, and a FAFSA each year.

Before accepting an aid package, compare your individual notice with the bill and ask what happens if you change enrollment, major, or campus. Read the program profile and consult the administering agency; your institution’s financial-aid office confirms your individual determination.

Information checked on October 12, 2026 against official sources. Deadlines for the 2026–27 cycle have passed for several programs; they are identified as past dates where relevant. Eligibility does not guarantee funding: confirm the academic year, your file, and net cost with the program and your campus financial-aid office.

Bottom line

Compare the scholarship with your full cost and confirm that you can meet the service and enrollment requirements for all eight semesters.
