Youth soccer in Davie: recreation, indoor training and the pro game

A town league, an indoor academy and Broward’s professional women’s team: ages, costs and fields to compare.

Davie offers two sharply different ways to put a child on the ball: the Town’s seasonal recreation league and the private indoor program at Shooting Stars Indoor Soccer. At Bamford Sports Complex, the municipal winter league runs from November into January for ages three through fourteen. Spring and summer soccer returns for ages five through twelve in 2027. Shooting Stars, by contrast, sells scheduled classes and skill sessions on an indoor field. The choice is less about which label sounds more serious and more about a child’s age, appetite for competition, preferred setting and family calendar.

Start with age, season and weekly rhythm

The Town’s winter fee table lists $75 for residents and $100 for nonresidents in the three- and four-year-old Smart Start group; ages five to nine are $105/$155, and ages ten to fourteen $130/$155. Registration for the 2026 winter season closed October 4. For the next spring/summer cycle, the Town says ages five to twelve will play in June and July, with registration from February 22 through April 18, 2027. Practices are set after teams form: most teams meet once a week, while the Town says they play two games weekly. Families should call about a late opening rather than assume the online calendar still accepts a player.

The private option uses a different clock. Shooting Stars’ fall academy lists U6 through U15 and two weekly sessions per group, with beginner/intermediate and advanced U8/U9 scheduled separately. The posted season price is $686.40 including the booking charge, but the session already began in August and ends December 17. Its booking page also lists short camps and an adapted Saturday class. A parent considering a midyear start should ask whether a later intake is planned, what portion of a season is charged and how the coach places a new player.

A park campus and an indoor field

The municipal address, 3801 South Pine Island Road, leads to the 113-acre Bamford Sports Complex and Pine Island Park. This is a public recreation campus with an aquatic and fitness center, indoor gymnasium, fields, a playground, trails and meeting rooms. The same park hosts both Town soccer seasons. Because field names and meeting times can vary by division, parents should open the route to the assigned field and check the Town’s weather or closure notice before leaving. Davie also runs basketball, lacrosse and tennis instruction, so soccer is part of a broader local sports calendar.

Shooting Stars is at 10376 West State Road 84. Its indoor surface and climate-controlled space keep the class environment separate from an outdoor park league, and the center also advertises rentals and birthday events. That can make a short class or camp a lower-commitment way to try organized soccer, while a Town team gives children regular games with a volunteer coach. The facility does not publish the same program as an outdoor travel club; families wanting league standings or weekend away matches should ask specifically before enrolling.

Davie’s professional soccer is close at hand

Davie has a professional first-division women’s team: Fort Lauderdale United competes in the Gainbridge Super League, classified as USSF Division I, at Amerant Bank Field on the Nova Southeastern University campus. The club has announced a men’s team in USL League One for spring 2027, a different and lower division. These matches give children a local professional game to watch, but neither the Town league nor Shooting Stars is identified as an affiliate. Families can use the stadium as part of the area’s soccer culture without assuming it is a recruitment route.

For the next step, read the Town of Davie recreational soccer profile, then use the Town soccer page to confirm the coming registration window and contact the sports office about availability. For indoor classes, check the current Shooting Stars calendar. Then compare the exact age cutoff, practice location, number of weekly sessions, games and total charges. That small check prevents a family from choosing a program based on an old flyer or driving to the wrong field.

Bottom line

Confirm the child’s team, current field assignment and full season cost before registering.
