Coral Springs families can choose between a large volunteer recreation league and an academy that evaluates players for different stages of development. Coral Springs Youth Soccer has partnered with the City for more than 50 years, but it is an independent nonprofit rather than a municipal department. Its teams are balanced without tryouts and emphasize playing time. Coral Springs Soccer and Futsal Academy offers development groups, pre-academy, travel teams and futsal for players ready for a more structured pathway.
A community league with a clear game-week routine
CSYS’s 2026–27 fee list ranges from $155 to $195 for Coral Springs residents, by division, and from $195 to $235 for neighboring-city players. The league says the amount includes its City participation fee and a uniform; shin guards are still required. U6 plays Sunday afternoons with a short practice followed by a game. U8 has two weekday practices and a Saturday game, while older ages add longer training, weekend or weeknight matches and, in some divisions, postseason tournaments. The league says practices start the week of November 15 and late registration is waitlisted. Ask whether a place remains before relying on the regular-season timetable.
The fields are public and spread across town. Mullins Park at 10000 Ben Geiger Drive and North Community Park at 5601 Coral Springs Drive are among the league’s game sites. The team information page, rather than the league’s mailing address, is where a parent can find the assigned coach, field and practice time once rosters are ready. Because the league handles more than 2,000 players, its FAQ says schedules are not rearranged after teams are set; families should weigh the assigned weekday practice before accepting a place.
When a player wants another level
The academy route is smaller and more evaluative. CSSA’s current page lists development, Junior Academy, Pre-Academy and travel soccer for birth years 2013–2021, and its Junior Academy describes two or three weekly sessions totaling about three hours, plus weekend games or futsal. The published Junior Academy price is $179 a month and a one-time $140 registration fee; uniforms are extra. The club’s evaluation page gives a 2026–27 schedule at Tamarac Rec Center, while Somerset Riverside Academy is the Coral Springs contact site. Families should ask which location actually serves their age group and what the travel-team cost includes.
The two organizations are not interchangeable. CSYS is built around a broad citywide season, balanced teams and equal time on the field; CSSA describes technical development, evaluations, indoor futsal and a travel pathway. The academy’s public comments include parents who say camps helped their children prepare for school tryouts and feel more confident, alongside differing impressions of coaching style. Neither a single comment nor an academy label settles the question: a trial session and a written fee schedule tell a family more about the actual squad.
Professional soccer nearby, not a youth-team guarantee
There is no MLS first-division club based in Coral Springs. In neighboring Davie, Fort Lauderdale United’s women compete in USSF Division I’s Gainbridge Super League at Amerant Bank Field; the club’s men are scheduled to join USL League One in 2027. Those games make professional soccer accessible in Broward, but the two youth organizations here do not claim a formal link to the professional side. The useful decision is the one close to the child’s stage: recreation without tryouts, or evaluated development with additional training and competition.
Use the CSYS FAQ to check the waitlist and division schedule; for the academy, start with its current evaluation page. Confirm the birth-year cutoff, exact park or school site, weekly commitment and all extra charges. A route to the right park and a realistic season budget are better preparation than choosing solely by a club name.
Confirm the child’s team, current field assignment and full season cost before registering.
