Communities Foundation of Texas connects students with scholarship funds established by donors and regional partners in Dallas and North Texas. The foundation says its universal application will reopen in January 2027, but has not yet posted an exact day on that page. This is not one program with a standard award amount: each scholarship has its own applicants, dates, forms, and documents.
The directory serves varied student profiles. For example, the Bear Bison Scholarship targets graduating seniors from South Oak Cliff or Sunset High School planning an accredited program; other CFT scholarships cover advertising, commercial real estate, manufacturing, or technical training. These examples do not replace the rules for the award you seek: check residence, school, field, and employment requirements on each listing.
CFT administers some scholarships with their own forms and others through a universal application. The page says it does not accept documents outside the portal or after an award deadline. Before gathering attachments, confirm whether the scholarship you want is currently open, returns in January, or follows another date. A general application does not complete an award that requires supplemental information.
Students can use the listings to prepare essays, transcripts, FAFSA, and supporting records ahead of time, but should not reuse prior-cycle documents without checking the year. For awards tied to a school or employer, confirm who certifies eligibility. If a CFT scholarship combines with federal or college aid, ask the campus how to report it and coordinate covered costs.
Confirm the academic year, local deadline and time, who must submit each document, and whether supplemental questions remain. Keep confirmations and recheck the portal after submitting. Ask the school’s financial-aid office how FAFSA, outside awards, and payments coordinate.
Read the aid-program profile and the FAFSA guide; confirm with the institution how funding is coordinated.
