The Boswell Family Charitable Foundation is preparing its 2026–27 cycle for Montgomery-area high-school seniors planning to begin college. The announced application opens November 1, 2026; as of this review, students cannot yet submit it. The foundation lists two tracks: the general Boswell Family Scholarship and the Eron L. Coleman STEM Scholarship for students pursuing science, technology, engineering, or mathematics careers.
Published eligibility is limited to seniors attending a Montgomery-area high school who plan to enroll at a two- or four-year college or university. The foundation considers financial need, academic record, character, and community commitment. The announcement does not set one fixed award amount or a universal GPA cutoff, so applicants should not assume every recipient receives the same sum.
Students pursuing STEM may be considered for both awards without filing a separate application, according to the foundation. The packet calls for a transcript, personal essay, activities and community-involvement résumé, financial-need statement, and recommendations. The foundation describes its review as blind: reviewers do not receive identifying information and assess the application itself.
The foundation says award decisions will be announced April 15, 2027, ahead of the usual national college-decision date. Before November, students can download its guides and prepare documents without sending sensitive information through unofficial channels. Once the portal opens, follow the current instructions and ask the college financial-aid office how to report an outside scholarship alongside FAFSA.
Confirm the academic year, applicant group, local deadline and time, and documents others must submit. Keep copies and confirmations. Ask your school’s financial-aid office how the scholarship coordinates with FAFSA, grants, and other support.
Read the aid-program profile and the FAFSA guide; verify with the institution how funding is coordinated.
