Blue Grass Community Foundation manages more than fifty scholarships, and its portal can match one application to more than 25 opportunities. The 2027–28 cycle opens December 15, 2026, and closes March 1, 2027, at 11:59 p.m. ET. Awards do not share one amount, and some are administered through schools or outside organizations.
Selection is based on donor-created funds, so each opportunity may weigh merit, need, field of study, service, or local background differently. The foundation recommends searching by eligibility and study area and reviewing listings before completing a profile. A general application does not replace any separate forms required by a school or association.
Applicants can prepare transcripts, activity details, references, and essays before December. Complete the portal profile carefully; the foundation provides searches by keyword or eligibility and recommends a desktop or tablet browser. For awards managed outside the platform, follow the sponsor’s instructions and track that program’s deadline separately.
The timeline lists notifications in May, an acceptance deadline of August 1, and payments to institutions in August 2027. Monitor email and complete any acceptance steps; winning does not end the process. Students receiving federal or college aid should report the award and ask how it will be applied to their cost of attendance.
Confirm the academic year, applicant group, local deadline and time, and documents others must submit. Keep copies and confirmations. Ask your school’s financial-aid office how the scholarship coordinates with FAFSA, grants, and other support.
Read the aid-program profile and the FAFSA guide; verify with the institution how funding is coordinated.
