The Arizona Community Foundation offers a general application that matches students with more than 160 donor-funded scholarships. Its portfolio includes high-school students, current college students, graduate students, and adults returning to school; eligible institutions can include two-year and four-year colleges, as well as technical and vocational schools. Some awards accept applicants from outside Arizona, although many prioritize local residency, schools, or communities. Matching does not replace reading the individual listing, since each fund has its own eligibility and award amount.
The foundation says the current scholarship season has ended and that its general application will reopen in January 2027. It does not publish one deadline for the entire portfolio: dates vary by fund, and the portal identifies active opportunities. ACF recommends applying early to be considered for as many awards as possible. Before January, review the catalog, create an account, and gather a transcript, FAFSA Submission Summary, and Student Aid Index information when applicable.
The form typically asks about school history, activities, the planned institution, short essays, and financial need. ACF’s general application does not itself require a recommendation, but some funds add questions for references. U.S. citizens and permanent residents are asked for FAFSA information when applicable. Awards apply to future school-year expenses, not past education debt. If a scholarship seems like a match, ask the Phoenix-based scholarship team how it is disbursed and whether payment goes to the student or the institution.
Before applying, confirm the correct cohort, time zone, documents your school must submit, and whether funds are applied to tuition or other costs. Your institution’s financial-aid office can explain how the award interacts with FAFSA and outside scholarships.
Read the aid-program profile and the FAFSA guide; your institution’s financial-aid office can verify your individual case.
