APQC offers the C. Jackson Grayson Scholarship to Houston-area high-school seniors who need help paying for college. For the 2027 cycle, the organization lists $25,000 per year for four years—up to $100,000 under program terms—for tuition, books, and fees. International Scholarship & Tuition Services administers the application.
Eligible applicants are high-school seniors or 2026 graduates from a school in Brazoria, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Montgomery, or Waller County. They must show financial need, have at least a 2.5 GPA on a four-point scale or equivalent, and begin full-time undergraduate study for the first time in fall 2027. Living in the greater Houston area is not enough if the high school is outside those counties.
The published deadline is November 30, 2026, but APQC will send only the first 100 complete, verified applications to its committee; the window may close early if it reaches that cap. “Complete” means the form plus every required record submitted and verified. Do not wait until the last day to request transcripts, recommendations, or other proof; starting a form does not reserve a place in that group.
Recipients may also have the opportunity to intern at APQC or a member organization and gain work experience alongside educational funding. Confirm renewal, disbursement, and terms with APQC and the college before counting on four guaranteed years. Keep a copy of the full file and monitor it through ISTS; eligibility and need matter, but timely completion of every required item is also critical.
Before submitting, confirm whether the deadline is national, state, school, or campus-based, who must send each document, and the time zone. Keep receipts and check application status. Ask the financial-aid office how the award combines with FAFSA, other scholarships, and the full cost of attendance.
Read the aid-program profile and the FAFSA guide; confirm how funding is coordinated.
