Full Circle is the American Indian College Fund’s main scholarship application for American Indian and Alaska Native students attending an accredited nonprofit institution. It can support certificate, undergraduate, and graduate study at tribal colleges as well as mainstream colleges and universities. The common application can also match tribal college students to other opportunities in the portfolio, but it does not mean every applicant receives multiple awards or that all students receive the same amount.
The foundation says the application opens each February 1. Its usual priority date is May 31; applications may be accepted afterward, although the College Fund recommends meeting the priority date for review. To document tribal affiliation, an enrolled member may submit tribal identification or a Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood; a descendant may need an enrolled parent’s or grandparent’s tribal documentation and records proving the relationship. The FAQ states that Full Circle requires full-time enrollment and a minimum 2.0 GPA; TCU portfolio rules can vary by campus.
The application includes short responses about challenges overcome, educational goals, and how the student’s education will benefit their Native community. The organization advises having a transcript ready before starting because the form cannot be edited after submission. Full Circle awards cover an academic year, with renewal rules and award amounts communicated to selected students. The page reviewed confirms the 2026–27 cycle, not a 2027–28 opening; check the portal when the next cycle is announced.
Before applying, confirm the correct cohort, time zone, documents your school must submit, and whether funds are applied to tuition or other costs. Your institution’s financial-aid office can explain how the award interacts with FAFSA and outside scholarships.
Read the aid-program profile and the FAFSA guide; your institution’s financial-aid office can verify your individual case.
