Starting fall 2026, the university raises the family income-and-assets threshold to $100,000 for eligible incoming undergraduates. Students need demonstrated need through FAFSA or TASFA, Texas residency, pursuit of a first bachelor’s degree, and admission to an eligible program at College Station, Galveston, or the Health Science Center. Certain Blinn TEAM pathways are included under specific estimated-tuition rules.
Aggie Assurance covers tuition and mandatory fees through grants, scholarships, and other aid for eligible students; it may add $500–$1,000 in tuition-support grants, subject to funding. It does not mean housing, books, meals, or transportation are paid. The university reviews eligibility each semester, and support is available only in fall and spring, not summer.
Complete FAFSA/TASFA by January 15, Texas’ priority date, and respond to verification requests. Apply to Texas A&M, select an eligible campus and program, and finish the aid file. The page does not describe a separate Aggie Assurance application: review begins with the state/federal form and resident classification. Late files may not receive the same priority review.
Renewal requires full-time enrollment of 12 or more credits each fall and spring, except in the graduating term, a 2.5 minimum GPA, and satisfactory progress. It is limited to four consecutive academic years and a first bachelor’s degree; graduate students, nonresidents, and second-degree seekers are excluded. The 2026–27 January 2026 priority date has passed; students planning for 2027–28 should prepare FAFSA and verify the next date.
Check your award letter to see whether you are classified as a resident and which grants were applied before Aggie Assurance. An outside scholarship may change the award mix even if it does not eliminate the total cost. If studying at College Station, Galveston, or the Health Science Center, confirm the program, four-year limit, and semester review; do not assume summer courses are paid. For fall 2027, note the published January 15 state date and verify whether Texas A&M changes its priority.
Read the aid-program profile and official FAFSA guide; ask the college for an individual balance review.
