Palácio Príncipe Real is a luxury hotel located in the Príncipe Real district of Lisbon. It presents itself as a residence-style retreat with a slower pace of life, featuring a leafy garden, a heated swimming pool, a wellness area and its own restaurant. The property welcomes guests aged 16 and over.

The building was once the home of the Teixeira da Mota family and, according to the hotel's own account, Lisbon society still remembers the parties once held there. That heritage is reflected in a service the company describes as reminiscent of another era, with individualised attention.

Accommodation and guest services

The rooms are spacious and some open directly onto the garden, with access to a terrace via a wrought-iron staircase. Each room includes a SMEG fridge with little treats. Breakfast is à la carte and is served until midday; it can be enjoyed in your room, on the terrace or by the pool. The lunch and dinner menu is available until 10:30 pm.

The garden, unusually large for a city-centre location, made it possible to build a heated pool suitable for swimming. The hotel also has Mick's Bar.

Paz @ Palácio: wellness and treatments

Paz, which means peace in Portuguese, is the hotel's wellness area, with two treatment rooms. Therapists Filipa and Joana provide bespoke massages and facial treatments using aromatherapy oils and products from various brands, including facial treatments with the INDIBA machine, the Augustinus Bader line and the COEL range.

On Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays the hotel offers a complimentary yoga class at 10:15 am, taught by Joana. It is also possible to book a private class with her at another time of day.

EVOO @ Palácio: a restaurant serving simple cuisine

EVOO is the hotel's restaurant and takes its name from the owner's organic extra virgin olive oil, the only oil used in its cooking. The offering is described as simple, honest food, freshly prepared and available throughout the day until 10:30 pm. The restaurant is open to both guests and non-guests, subject to availability and with a prior reservation.

The company highlights the city's climate, which allows guests to enjoy the garden and terrace even in February or November.
