Quinta da Pacheca is a wine estate with a five-star hotel located in the Douro Valley, in Lamego (Portugal). The complex integrates vineyards, accommodation, dining, spa, and wine tourism experiences in a single setting. Its winemaking history dates back to the 16th century, and the first documented reference to the estate as "Pacheca" dates from 1738.

Accommodation: Wine Barrels, Classic Wing, and Modern Wing

The hotel, called The Wine House Hotel, presents itself as an exclusive five-star destination. The accommodation offering is organized into three types:

• Wine Barrels: suites shaped like large wine barrels, integrated into the vineyard landscape. They were recognized as global winners in Architecture and Landscape by the Best of Wine Tourism Awards 2020.
• Classic Wing: spacious and elegantly furnished rooms, with a warm atmosphere and views of the Douro River and the vineyards.
• Modern Wing: rooms with clean lines and contemporary aesthetics, bright and quiet.

The Wine House Restaurant

The Wine House Restaurant, led by Chef Carlos Pires, offers cuisine that combines Portuguese tradition with contemporary creativity. The dishes are made with local ingredients and are designed to pair with the estate's wines. The space, with a refined and welcoming atmosphere, offers views of the vineyards.

Vineyard Spa

The Vineyard Spa is a wellness space inspired by the Douro vineyard. Its exclusive treatments are based on grape seeds and natural-origin products. The spa features a hydrotherapy circuit and relaxation areas.

Atelier d'Or: art and wine

Atelier d'Or is a creative space led by artist-in-residence Óscar Rodrigues, a graduate in Fine Arts from the University of Porto and known for his wood sculptures and for the "Winearellas," paintings made with wine. The studio offers hands-on workshops in wine painting and sculpture with local natural materials.

Wine Tourism and Vineyards

The estate organizes personalized guided tours and exclusive tastings. In 2021, it received the regional award for Innovative Wine Tourism Experiences at the Best of Wine Tourism Awards. The vineyards, spread across rolling terrain by the river, are dedicated to native varieties and produce wines that reflect the terroir. The winery was recognized with the Winery Star - Wine Leaders' Choice 2024 by the Wine International Association.

Sustainability and Biosphere Certification

Quinta da Pacheca holds Biosphere certification, which recognizes its commitment to environmental, social, and economic sustainability, responsible tourism, and the protection of local biodiversity.
