Peru is a country with over 10,000 years of history, home to many ancient cultures that left a rich and invaluable cultural and archaeological heritage. Within this legacy lies the Historic Sanctuary of Machupicchu, the Royal Tombs of Sipan, the enigmatic Nazca Lines, the impressive fortress of Kuelap, the archaeological complex of Chavin, the archaeological site of Chan Chan, the oldest city in America: Caral, among other archaeological and cultural sites. Additionally, Peru possesses a rich multicultural and multiethnic heritage, an incomparable cuisine, and countless natural attractions, such as the Huascaran National Park, Manu National Park, Abiseo River National Park, among others.

The Huayhuash Cordillera

The Huayhuash Cordillera is one of the most spectacular zones in Peru, located in the central sierra where the departments of Ancash, Huánuco and Lima converge, about 50 km south of the Cordillera Blanca. This mountain range is considered among the top ten best hiking circuits in the world, due to its incomparable scenic beauty and biodiversity. Six of its peaks exceed 6,000 meters, others 15 reach over 5,400 meters, and its most important snow-capped peak, Yerupajá (6,634 m), is the second highest mountain in Peru and the highest point in the Amazon basin.
