Hand-Knotted Rugs for New Zealand Interiors

Nile Rugs NZ is a New Zealand store specialising in hand-knotted rugs, with a catalogue that brings together Persian, Afghan, vintage and kilim pieces, as well as accessories such as cushion covers and rug pads. The company presents itself as a provider of heirloom-quality rugs for New Zealand homes and operates with local stock.

Collections and Styles Available

The catalogue is organised into several product families:

• Vintage rugs, including one-of-a-kind hand-knotted pieces.
• Afghan rugs, with models such as Super Kazak, Khorjin and Biljik.
• Kilim rugs.
• Runner rugs.
• Overdyed and distressed rugs.
• Cushion covers and rug pads.

The store also groups part of its range by style — vintage, distressed and overdyed — and maintains a new arrivals section and a sale section.

Search by Size

The site allows rugs to be filtered by dimensions, with categories ranging from small pieces to extra-large formats, as well as 2, 3, 4 and 5 metre runner rugs. The website itself offers a size guide and a tool to enter width and length and find the right rug. Among the uses the store associates with each size are bedrooms, entryways, kitchens, living rooms, dining rooms, family rooms and open-plan spaces.

Materials and Craftsmanship

According to the store's information, each rug is hand-knotted by experienced artisans and made with natural materials such as pure wool, cotton and, in some cases, silk. The company describes its range as certified hand-knotted pieces made from 100% natural materials.
