The company was established in New Zealand in 1935 and formally incorporated as Interflora Pacific Unit Limited in 1952. It is part of one of the world's best-known flower delivery networks and connects customers with more than 100 expert local florists across the country, as well as linking to a global network of more than 40,000 florists in over 140 countries.

History

The network's history dates back to 1910, when florists in the United States began transmitting orders by telegraph to send flowers over long distances. In 1923, Interflora British Unit was established, helping to build the international network and the recognisable Mercury Man symbol. In 1935, Interflora Pacific Unit was established in Wellington, bringing the Interflora network to New Zealand. In 1952, Interflora Pacific Unit Limited was formed, which later became a New Zealand cooperative under the Co-operative Companies Act 1996. Today, Interflora New Zealand supports more than 100 member florists across the country with same-day flower delivery and international shipping.
