Prezzy Card

Prezzy Card, prepaid Visa gift cards in New Zealand

Prezzy Card is a New Zealand prepaid gift card provider, operated by epay NZ Ltd. Its cards run on the Visa network and can be used both in physical stores and online, at any establishment that accepts Visa or Mastercard payments. The company presents itself as the country's leading option in this segment.

How the cards work and how to use them

Using a Prezzy Card is similar to using a credit card: it allows contactless payments wherever Visa is accepted, both in stores and online. The cards are purchased on a cardboard carrier that is opened to remove the card. Before use, it must be unlocked and activated online or by phone. The company also recommends registering it on their website for added security and to keep a record of transactions. The balance can be checked online free of charge at any time.

Each card can be used until the preloaded balance is spent or until its expiry date; any unused value is automatically forfeited upon expiry. The cards work throughout New Zealand and are also accepted overseas.

Available amounts and designs

The card can be loaded with any amount between 25 and 1000 dollars. Four designs are offered in the online store, and they can also be purchased at physical retailers across the country, such as gas stations and large supermarkets, as well as other selected stores.

Business solutions

Prezzy Card offers corporate accounts aimed at business rewards. Companies can customise any of the base designs with their logo and a message of up to 24 characters, and send the desired logo and text to receive personalised gift cards for employees or customers. The company also sells a reloadable card and a line of Prezzy vouchers, as well as the Giftzzy portal.

History and management

The company states that it launched its card in 2006. The website allows cards to be managed through unlocking, registration and balance enquiry services, and offers sections for frequently asked questions, fees and disputes. The company operates under epay NZ Ltd.
