Sirru Fen Fushi – Private Lagoon Resort is a luxury resort located in Shaviyani Atoll, Maldives. Its name means "secret water island" and it occupies a natural setting of a 600-hectare private lagoon, jungle and reef. The resort is part of The Leading Hotels of the World collection and presents itself as one of the country's most outstanding five-star properties.

Access is by a scenic seaplane flight over atolls and coral lagoons, an introduction to the island that the resort itself describes as part of the experience.

Villas and accommodation

The resort has 120 villas distributed across beach, jungle and overwater locations. All include a private pool, wooden decks, indoor and outdoor showers, designer bathroom amenities and a villa host service available 24 hours a day. The offering is organised into several categories:

• Beach villas, including the Sunrise & Sunset Beach Villa and Sunrise & Sunset Deluxe Beach Villa with Private Pool categories.
• Water villas, such as Sunrise & Sunset Water Villa with Private Pool and Grand Water Villa Sunset with Private Pool, with direct ocean access, an overwater hammock and panoramic sunrise or sunset views.
• Safari Tent Villas, a luxury glamping concept beneath centuries-old banyan trees, available in beach and jungle versions, with a private pool.
• Two- and three-bedroom villas, both on the beach and over the water, designed for families and groups.
• Sirru Residences, a collection of three beachfront villas that can be used separately or combined to form a seven-bedroom residence.

Dining and wellness

The resort offers four dining experiences and two bars, including the ONU ONU Bar, with a relaxed beachfront atmosphere. For relaxation, it has the Arufen Spa.

Signature island experiences

Among the resort's most recognisable spaces is a 200-metre infinity pool along the island's edge, with an exclusive adults-only jacuzzi. In the marine sphere, the resort is home to The Coralarium, a work by Jason deCaires Taylor described as the first coral regeneration project in the form of an underwater gallery, located within one of the largest private lagoons in the Maldives. The Sub-Oceanic Dive Centre provides access to a 9-kilometre house reef.

The activity offering includes watersports and beach activities, as well as a recreation centre where guests can paint on canvas, create coconut postcards or design bags, with guidance from the resident artist. For younger guests there is a Kids' Club with indoor and outdoor areas, crafts, games, a slide, a loft net with swings, sand play areas and a dedicated section of the infinity pool.

Sustainability

The resort has a Sustainability Lab, an interactive space where guests transform plastic into useful objects, and holds Green Globe Gold certification in recognition of its commitment to sustainability.

Awards and events

The resort has been recognised by Tripadvisor and Travel + Leisure Asia Pacific, according to its own presentation. Its activity calendar includes proposals such as the World Oceans Day celebration (1-10 June 2025) with Freedive Maldives, which allows guests to obtain freediving certification, and an Eid escape (6-10 June 2025).
