About Yu-sa Asamushi Roadside Station
Yu-sa Asamushi brings together several useful services for visitors exploring the coast without a car: a direct-sales market, souvenir shop, seasonal products and a quick stop for ice cream. Its location is particularly convenient: the Aoimori Railway station is about a one-minute walk away, across the national road, and a pedestrian crossing leads towards the shore. It can therefore work as the start or end of a visit to the aquarium and Asamushi’s waterfront.
The market sells local produce, seafood and prepared foods, while the shop carries regional sweets, souvenirs and the facility’s own items. This is not a destination restaurant with one fixed menu; what is available depends on the day and nearby businesses. Visitor comments describe it as a practical place to buy Aomori products, pick up something to eat and get oriented in town. Some older comments also praise the top-floor bath, but that service is currently unavailable.
The current official site says the fifth-floor panoramic bath has been temporarily closed since 19 August 2026 because of equipment failure. Another section still displays the usual 7:00 am–9:00 pm schedule, so the closure notice takes precedence. The market is open 9:00 am–5:30 pm; the souvenir shop runs 9:00 am–7:00 pm, closing at 6:00 pm from December through March. The facility’s phone number is +81 17-737-5151. If bathing was the main reason for stopping, check for an official reopening notice before travelling.
Its strength remains the connection between rail, neighbourhood and regional products, even without the bath. Visitors can walk back from the aquarium, shop for apples, processed seafood or local sweets, then continue by train to Aomori. The shore, fishing park and sunset beach are also nearby for those with extra time; weather and season determine how long to stay outdoors. Until the bath reopens, Yu-sa works best as a market and service stop rather than a hot-spring attraction.
Fresh-produce market, souvenirs and ice cream beside the station; the panoramic bath is temporarily closed.
