Casa Maria Luigia

Casa Maria Luigia is a guesthouse in the Emilian countryside, in San Damaso (Modena), founded by Massimo Bottura and Lara Gilmore as an extension of the hospitality of Osteria Francescana.

About Casa Maria Luigia

Casa Maria Luigia, hospitality and fine dining in the Emilian countryside

Casa Maria Luigia is an intimate, welcoming guesthouse located in the Emilian countryside, in the village of San Damaso, in the province of Modena. The project belongs to Massimo Bottura and Lara Gilmore, who acquired an 18th-century property with the intention of extending the concept of hospitality beyond the doors of Osteria Francescana, their three-Michelin-starred restaurant opened in 1995 in the historic center of Modena.

The property combines accommodation with its own dining experience and with the enjoyment of a private collection assembled by its founders: contemporary art, books, vinyl records, iconic Italian cars, special edition motorcycles and a pantry of Emilian ingredients.

Accommodation and breakfast

The establishment presents itself as a home-like place to stay, with a one-of-a-kind breakfast among its offerings. Stays are booked by room and the room rate does not include the cost of the dining experience unless it is selected during the booking process.

Francescana at Maria Luigia and other dining spaces

The culinary offering of the complex is built around several concepts: Francescana at Maria Luigia, Al Gatto Verde, CASA LU and Acetaia Maria Luigia. The site also mentions the possibility of gifting a Francescana experience.

To reserve the dining experience at Francescana at Maria Luigia it is necessary to select the non-refundable rate. The establishment states that it will do its best to accommodate later requests, although it cannot guarantee availability.
