Passalacqua is a five-star hotel located on Lake Como, in Italy. Its origins date back to the 18th century, when it was conceived as a gathering place for friends, for love and leisure, for the pleasures of the table and the Italian art of dolce far niente. The property presents itself as a destination for all seasons, with warm, personalised service.

Accommodation: three moods, one nature

The accommodation is organised into three distinct spaces: Villa, Palazz and Casa al Lago. Each maintains its own identity within a whole that the company describes as a stylish place, curated in every detail.

Pool and surroundings

The pool, known as la piscina, is set on a garden terrace just below the main villa, edged by ancient climbing roses and a magnificent bay tree. The space lends itself equally to swimming and leisurely dips. The hotel also offers beach access and lake-view suites.

Experience and the tradition of villeggiatura

The establishment revives the Italian tradition of villeggiatura, understood as a prolonged and peaceful stay in which noble families would move from the city to the villa during the summer. Passalacqua presents itself as a place where that custom lives on, with encounters, diversions and personal enrichment.

Publication and sister property

The company has published a book with Assouline, titled Dear Passalacqua, in which it reviews its history and its bond with the lake. Creative directors Daria Reina and Andrea Ferolla took part in the project. In addition, the Grand Hotel Tremezzo is its sister property: an art nouveau-style villa on the western shore of Lake Como, with views of Bellagio and the Grigne mountain range, three pools, a private beach and a private park.

Casabianca art collection

Passalacqua also houses Casabianca, a collection of 20th and 21st-century art gathered by Paolo and Antonella De Santis, exhibited in a villa open to the city and the public.
