About RideMovi
RideMovi, shared micromobility in European cities
RideMovi is a shared micromobility operator that presents itself as a leading player in the sector in Europe. Its service is built around a mobile app with which users locate the nearest available vehicle on the map, unlock it and use it for their urban journeys, with the option to park in any designated public space. The company frames its activity within sustainable mobility and coverage of the so-called last mile.
Vehicle fleet
The fleet is organised into three types of vehicle designed for different needs:
- RideMovi eBike: an e-bike aimed at longer journeys, with a range of 80 km and a top speed of 25 km/h. It includes a secure phone holder that makes navigation easier during the journey.
- RideMovi Bike: an urban bike with an IoT smart lock, airless tyres, a solar panel and an ergonomic seat.
- RideMovi eScooter: an e-scooter, the most recent addition to the fleet.
How the service works
Using the service comes down to three steps. First, the user downloads the RideMovi app and looks on the map for the nearest available bike or e-bike. They then scan the vehicle's QR code and start their journey; the app tracks total kilometres and the route on the map. Finally, the user parks responsibly, locks the vehicle and checks in the app that they have ended the trip in line with parking rules.
Community and reach
The company puts its community at 6 million users and 30,000 smart vehicles. Among the impact figures it reports are 80 million kilometres travelled over seven years of operations, equivalent to 1,996 laps around the Earth; 12,000 tonnes of CO2 avoided; an 82% reduction in car use; and an effect equivalent to 560,000 trees.
Cities and parking regulations
RideMovi operates in various European cities and publishes specific guides on the parking rules in each one. Among those featured on its website are Copenhagen, Malmö and Stockholm, as well as the announcement of the arrival of the eBike in Lund, with electric service also in Helsingborg.
Collaboration with authorities and companies
The company works with local governments to make the service easier to access and with companies and organisations to promote a sustainable and healthy lifestyle through micromobility. It also develops education and safety initiatives aimed at its users, promoting correct use of the service, respect for local rules and the use of bike lanes.
Technology, sustainability and team
The company places investment in product and technology at the heart of its strategy, and runs a recycling project to reuse or recycle parts from retired vehicles. Its team describes itself as European and works around sustainable mobility.
