Wicklow Hire & Sales

Plant hire and sales in County Wicklow

Wicklow Hire & Sales is an equipment hire and sales centre that has been operating since 1974, according to its own presentation. It operates with two branches in County Wicklow: the Wicklow headquarters and the Arklow depot, which the site announces as newly opened. The company describes itself as a trusted hire and sales centre and offers both plant for hire and new equipment for sale, as well as acting as a STIHL shop.

Plant hire for construction and building

The hire catalogue covers a wide spectrum of construction equipment. The published categories include excavators and mini excavators, telehandlers and forklifts, boom lifts (cherry pickers, boom lifts or MEWPs), aluminium scaffold towers, building site equipment, compressors, compactors, cutting and grinding tools, consaws, concrete preparation and finishing equipment, and industrial air scrubbers. The company states that it provides hire services in Dublin, Wicklow and Wexford, and offers nationwide delivery for certain equipment, such as log splitters.

Featured new addition to the fleet

The site presents as a new addition the Sinoboom 3369RD diesel scissor lift, 10 metres, with dual-sided maintenance doors, swing-out engine compartment, 1.6 m wide platform and one-way extension. It incorporates a one-click levelling system and is designed for slopes of up to 35%.

Gardening, cleaning and seasonal equipment

The hire offering also includes gardening machinery, lawn mowers, brushcutters, blowers, hedge trimmers, wood chippers and shredders, pressure washers and cleaning equipment, as well as carpet cleaning machines and air conditioning and evaporative cooling equipment. In the autumn deals section, for example, there is the hire of an FSA 90R battery-powered brushcutter, a STIHL BR 700 backpack blower, a self-propelled lawn mower and a STIHL HLA 66 long-reach battery hedge trimmer, with prices indicated in the site catalogue.

STIHL machinery and consumables sales

As a STIHL shop, the company sells a range of products from the brand: petrol chainsaws such as the MS 162 and MS 251, battery and petrol lawn mowers (RMA 248, RM 453 V, RM 453 T, RM 448 V, RM 650 T), scarifiers, hedge trimmers, blowers, batteries and chargers, as well as electric pressure washers such as the RE 110 Plus. The consumables section brings together protective and everyday work items: gloves, ear defenders, safety glasses, dust masks, electrical adaptors, cable ties, wipes and industrial cleaners, among others.

Awards highlighted by the company

The site displays two distinctions: the award for best single-depot hire company in the UK and Ireland at the Executive Hire Show, and the award for best Irish hire company at the Machinery Movers Industry & Operator Awards. These are recognitions that the company itself displays on its page.
