About Clare Animal Welfare
Clare Animal Welfare: animal rescue and adoption in County Clare
Clare Animal Welfare is an Irish organisation dedicated to the rescue, rehoming and support of dogs, cats and other animals. Its work centres on finding homes for the animals in its care, temporary fostering with volunteer families, and channelling donations and outside help.
Adoption and fostering
The organisation manages an adoption process using specific forms depending on the species: one for dogs and one for cats. It also has a pre-surrender form for those who need to give up an animal, and a pre-fostering form for families who offer to care for animals in their home until they are permanently adopted.
Among the animals the organisation has featured on its website are cases such as Molly, a three-year-old saluki-lurcher described as calm and sociable; Rayna, a lurcher of around two years old found in poor condition near Galway; Derick, a puppy of around seven or eight months, probably a pug and Jack Russell terrier cross; and Yoshi, an adopted lurcher who reached the second round of Petmania's Puppy of the Year competition. The organisation notes that animals are adopted out to people resident in Ireland.
How to help
Clare Animal Welfare's website lists several ways to get involved: adoption, fostering, donations and volunteering. There is a volunteer form (CAW Volunteer Form) and a support application (CAW Support Application), as well as a donation store (Donation Store) and a blog with news and animal stories.
Contact by species
The organisation has two separate phone lines depending on the type of animal: one for dogs and one for cats and other animals. The email address is the same for all enquiries.
