Petworld

Shopping for a pet usually begins with a particular need, not a brand: suitable food, a harness that fits, or a filter that keeps an aquarium working. Petworld brings those decisions together in stores across Ireland and online. The Irish-owned family business opened its first store in Castlebar in 1998 and has expanded while retaining in-person service.

Its range is organized around dogs, cats, birds, fish, and small animals. It includes dry and wet food, treats, beds, leads, toys, and grooming supplies. Aquarium owners can find filters, heaters, food, and cleaning equipment; bird and small-mammal sections carry cages, bedding, and feeders. Before changing a diet or buying equipment, check the animal’s species, size, and intended use.

The company presents store staff as a resource for choosing food, care products, and accessories. That conversation can help compare products, but it does not replace a veterinarian when symptoms or treatment are involved. Petworld also describes responsible retail practices, work with animal-welfare groups, and support for adoption. These are the company’s stated initiatives, not a guarantee about every product or animal.

Listed locations include Athlone at Shannon Retail Park, Dublin Road, N37 E2P6; Castlebar at Horkans Garden & Lifestyle Centre, Turlough, F23 FC90; and Dublin Nutgrove at Unit 5 Nutgrove Lidl Centre, Nutgrove Avenue, D14 A3H3. Its other Dublin store is at Unit 5, Lidl Retail Centre, Main Road, Tallaght, D24 A9CX. These are separate shops, and their stock can differ.

In Galway, the company identifies Briarhill at Unit 15a Briarhill Business Park, Ballybrit, H91 RWXO; Terryland at Terryland Retail Park, Headford Road, H91 RW8K; and Knocknacarra at Miller’s Hall, Unit 2 Western Distributor Road, H91 TD0F. It also lists Portlaoise at Unit 28 Laois Shopping Centre, R32 X684, and Mullingar at Unit 20–21 Tesco Shopping Centre, Ashe Road, N91 C9XN. This spread helps customers choose a nearby shop rather than assume everything ships from a single warehouse.

The online store offers delivery of food and accessories, with an order threshold for free standard shipping and a priority-dispatch option. Terms depend on weight and the particular order. For repeat purchases, the site advertises a food-bag program for participating brands. Read its rules before counting on the savings, especially if a pet needs a consistent diet.

Petworld combines a broad digital catalog with the chance to see products and talk to staff in several cities. That mix is useful: order familiar supplies at home and use a store visit to compare sizes, textures, or equipment that is hard to judge on a screen. A good purchase begins with the animal’s needs and ends with a product that can actually be used.
