The Garden House

The Garden House, a garden centre and outdoor living destination in Malahide

The Garden House is a garden centre based in Malahide, County Dublin, that combines the sale of plants and gardening products with outdoor furniture, barbecues, homeware and its own café. The company presents itself as one of Ireland's leading garden centres and operates both in-store and through its website, with free shipping on online orders over €50, excluding heavy or bulky items.

Plants, bulbs and garden care

The gardening catalogue includes spring-flowering bulbs that the shop recommends planting between September and December to enjoy colour from February. Among the varieties available are tulips, alliums, daffodils, crocus, snowdrops, iris, muscari, hyacinths and fritillarias, with exclusive mixes and collections. The company publishes its own guides, such as the one dedicated to layering spring bulbs.

The gardening section is completed with tools and accessories, plant supports, products for growing your own and organic gardening, compost, lawn care, plant feed and fertilisers, pest control, moss and weed control, and a line of wild bird food and accessories including feeders, houses and tables.

Pots, planters and décor

The container range covers plant stands and trolleys, plastic, glazed, fibreglass and indoor pots, as well as the Ecopots, Elho and Eschbach planters brands. The Garden House presents itself as an Ecopots partner. In outdoor décor it offers cushions, coir door mats, Hug Rugs rugs and runners.

Outdoor furniture and barbecues

Garden furniture includes the own-brand The Garden House Signature Furniture line, bistro sets, 4, 6 and 8+ seat sets, sofa and corner sets, wooden benches, loungers, parasols and bases, and furniture in rattan, wood, plastic and from the Kettler brand.

In barbecues, the shop sells gas and charcoal models, accessories and covers, and works with the Big Green Egg, Weber and Broil King brands. It also sells kiln-dried birch logs in packs of five 15 kg bags, presented as suitable for wood stoves and fireplaces due to their clean and efficient burn, with multi-buy discounts of up to 17%.

Home, gifts and seasonal items

The home and gifts section brings together artificial flowers and plants, house plant care, home fragrances such as scented candles, reed diffusers, aroma mist and car diffusers, and room sprays. The gifts section includes wellness and beauty, baby gifts, fashion accessories such as bags, hats, scarves and jewellery, home accessories such as cushions, throws, clocks and LED candles, and kitchen and dining ware with table linen and paper napkins.

The seasonal offering focuses on Christmas, with real and artificial trees, slim, pre-lit and heights ranging from 6 to 10 feet, as well as indoor and outdoor Christmas lights, garlands and wreaths. The shop also sells gift cards redeemable on plants, tools, furniture, décor and seasonal collections.
