Key cover
InsureandGo Ireland's policies include a series of covers that the company details on its website:
- Medical expenses: up to €10 million if the Platinum option is chosen.
- Cancellation: all policies cover trip cancellation.
- Emergency medical assistance: 24-hour helpline for emergencies abroad.
- Flight delay: real-time tracking of booked flights, with instant notifications in the event of a delay. If the delay exceeds 3 hours, the insured can access an airport lounge or receive a cash payment, depending on the policy selected.
- Lost luggage: cover for lost baggage.
- 24/7 online doctor: free access to the TravelGP service, an online doctor available 24 hours a day for consultations while abroad. This service is included in all policies at no extra cost.
The company also states that it does not apply hidden transaction or admin fees.
Winter sports cover
The winter sports policy covers, up to the amount specified according to the option purchased, the loss, theft or damage of winter sports equipment, the hire of such equipment in the event of loss, theft or damage, the cost of the ski pass if the insured becomes ill or injured, additional travel and accommodation expenses if the outward or final return journey is delayed by an avalanche, and the closure of the piste for more than 12 hours.
Private health insurance discount
InsureandGo Ireland offers a reduction in the travel insurance premium if the main insured and each additional traveller on the policy have private health insurance covering hospitalisation abroad with a minimum of €55,000 per person per claim. This cover must remain in place for the full duration of the policy with InsureandGo. In the event of a claim for inpatient medical treatment abroad, the insured must claim first on their private health insurance; the benefits of the travel policy begin once the limit of the private cover is reached.
