Vivara, food and equipment for wild birds

Vivara is an online store based in Ireland dedicated to wild bird food and garden wildlife products. Its catalogue brings together more than 500 products and it presents itself as a bird food supplier for the United Kingdom, with positive ratings in eleven countries. The company allocates 1.2 million euros annually to nature conservation projects, according to its own website.

Bird food

The food range includes seed mixes, straight seeds, peanuts, mealworms and a specific line of organic products. Within fats and suets, fat balls, suet blocks and suet cake tubes, peanut butter jars, suet logs, coconuts and suet pellets are offered. The store also sells food packs and bundles, as well as guidance content such as guides on what each species eats and seasonal feeding.

Feeders, water dishes and hygiene

The feeders section covers models for seeds and nuts, tube feeders, peanut feeders, bird tables, window feeders and squirrel-resistant models, including those made from recycled plastic. It is completed with fat and suet feeders, accessories such as bird baths and water dishes, feeder poles and hygiene products. Featured collections include starter bundles and solutions for feeding birds from a balcony.

Nest boxes and garden wildlife

Nest boxes are organised by species — blue tits and coal tits, great tits, pied flycatchers, robins, wrens, starlings, redstarts, woodpeckers, owls, swifts, swallows and house martins — and by material, with wooden, birch log and WoodStone models, as well as specialist boxes, nest box cameras and accessories. The wildlife section includes butterfly, bee and insect houses, hedgehog food and shelters, squirrel food and feeders, duck and swan food, bat boxes, frog and toad habitats, dormouse nesting boxes and natural pest deterrents.

Plants, birdwatching and kids

Vivara sells organic wildflower seeds and gardening accessories. For birdwatching, it offers binoculars, cameras and equipment, observation hides, clothing and footwear, and books and ID charts. The kids' line includes build-your-own soft toys, gardening tools, books and charts, thermometers and bug viewers, with products such as make your own bird food with peanut butter clay kits, kids' fat balls and children's binoculars.

Gifts and homeware

The gifts and homeware section comprises gift boxes, garden ornaments, bird mugs, cotton and jute bags, tea towels, umbrellas, greeting cards and metal silhouettes. The store has designer collections by Roy Kirkham, Elwin van der Kolk and Myrte.
