About Web World
Web World: Irish hosting and Dublin data centres
Web World is the trading name of Sternforth Limited, a privately owned Irish company established in 1998 that operates two of its own data centres in Dublin. From them it provides shared hosting, dedicated servers, VPS, colocation, domain registration and wireless broadband services. The company presents itself as a provider with ISO 27001 certified infrastructure and Irish support available 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
Own infrastructure in Dublin
The company manages two data centres in the Irish capital. The first opened in February 2005 at South City Business Centre in Tallaght and is still in operation. The second was inaugurated in 2015 and quadrupled server capacity. The company states that all data remains in Ireland and that its infrastructure is ISO 27001 certified. It also declares a 99.9% uptime SLA and DDoS protection.
Hosting and server services
Web World's catalogue covers several types of hosting and servers, all hosted in its Dublin data centres:
- Shared hosting: plans with DirectAdmin panel, WordPress installation and over 400 applications via Softaculous, free SSL, unlimited email and instant activation. It is aimed at freelancers, agencies and small businesses. It also offers hosting with cPanel, LiteSpeed and Plesk, the latter for Windows and ASP.NET environments.
- Dedicated servers: Intel Xeon machines installed and provisioned in its own data centres, with full root access, DDoS protection, remote hands and 24/7 hardware support. They are designed for high-traffic sites, private clouds and workloads that exceed the capabilities of a VPS or shared hosting.
- VPS: KVM virtual servers with NVMe storage in Dublin, scalable up to 64 GB RAM, with root access, snapshots and API access. They are aimed at development, testing and production applications that require dedicated resources without the cost of a physical server.
- Colocation: hosting of the customer's own hardware in either of the two Dublin data centres, with redundant power, cooling and connectivity, ISO 27001 certification and remote support.
- Reseller hosting: plans for web designers, agencies and IT consultants to sell hosting under their own brand, with WHMCS billing, white-label DirectAdmin, Irish IPs and unlimited SSLs for their clients.
- Business email: Orion service with anti-spam filtering, calendars and mobile sync, compatible with own domains.
The company also offers SSL certificates, spam filtering, server management, endpoint protection and AI agents.
