My GP Surgery is a medical clinic led by Dr. A. Afghan, a general practitioner with training and experience in emergency medicine, surgery and anaesthesia. The doctor completed his GP training in the NHS in Northern Ireland and holds MRCGP (Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners) and MRCEM (Membership of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine) credentials from the UK, as well as a diploma in paediatrics. The clinic operates from three locations: Drogheda, Balbriggan and Newry.

General medical services

The clinic's main activity covers general practice consultations for common health problems, minor procedures and medical advice. In-person consultations are offered as well as online consultations, the latter designed to receive medical guidance from home. The clinic also issues certificates and medical documentation, and assesses the short-term continuation of regular medications when clinically appropriate, as well as urgent repeat prescriptions.

Circumcision

My GP Surgery offers a circumcision service for babies under 18 months and for children from 5 or 6 years old, as well as for adults. The procedures are performed under local anaesthesia, as the clinic does not have facilities for general anaesthesia. In young children the plastic ring method (Plastibell) is used. Before the procedure an initial assessment is carried out to confirm the suitability and safety of the procedure. The service operates exclusively by appointment, not as a walk-in, and appointments are usually available within a week. A deposit of €100 is required to book, which does not cover the full cost of the procedure and is deducted from the total cost; cancellations with less than 72 hours' notice or non-attendance result in the loss of the deposit.

Aesthetic medicine

Dr. Afghan also practises as an aesthetic practitioner after training at institutions such as Derma Medical and SkinViva Academies. The clinic offers anti-ageing treatments, fillers and other aesthetic procedures, combining the doctor's medical background with advanced techniques in this field.
