About WebSell
WebSell, ecommerce integrated with ERP and POS
WebSell is an ecommerce platform specialising in connecting online stores with the management systems (ERP) and point-of-sale (POS) systems that its clients already use. The company presents itself as a specialist in integration and B2B commerce, rather than a generic online store builder. Its proposition is based on making the digital storefront work with the data that already resides in the back-office system, without duplicating information or maintaining two disconnected systems.
The company states it has more than 400 business users in the United States, Canada, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Australia, and other markets, and serves both independent retailers taking their first steps online and wholesale distributors with complex B2B operations.
Integrations with management systems
The core of the product is direct integrations with point-of-sale and ERP platforms. Among the connections the company details are Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Windward System Five, Retail Management Hero, Lightspeed, pcAmerica's Cash Register Express, and Microsoft RMS. The company emphasises that these integrations are built with depth and reliability, not as superficial connectors.
The integration with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is presented as the most complete for B2B and B2C environments. In the case of Windward System Five, WebSell is described as the recommended ecommerce solution for its users, developed by the same business group.
Solutions for different business models
The platform organises its offering across several fronts. For the B2B sphere, it offers customer-specific pricing, account management, and integrated order workflows. For small businesses, it raises the possibility of moving a physical store online without adding complexity. It also provides marketing and growth services, with paid search management, SEO, and marketplace management handled by an in-house team. In addition, it offers solutions tailored to the particularities of each sector.
History: from NitroSell to WebSell
The company's journey dates back to 1999, when it began operating in the field of integrated ecommerce. The founding idea stemmed from a simple observation: independent retailers already had their products, prices, and customer data in their point-of-sale system, and there was no way to transfer that information to the online environment automatically and accurately.
In 2005 the business was formally incorporated under the name NitroSell, developed alongside retailers seeking a highly integrated and configurable ecommerce solution. Over the following years, direct integrations were added with point-of-sale and ERP systems widely used in independent retail.
In 2021 the company was acquired by Volaris Group, a subsidiary of Constellation Software Inc. According to the company, it maintains a largely independent operation, which allows it to retain the agility of a specialised team alongside the resources and stability of a global organisation. This relationship also strengthened ties with Windward Software, another company in the Volaris group.
After the acquisition, NitroSell was renamed WebSell, a name that better reflects the platform's activity and the clients it serves.
International presence
WebSell operates from its international headquarters in Cork (Ireland), with an office in the United States in Traverse City (Michigan) and a support office in Poznań (Poland). The company reports activity in the United States, Canada, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Australia, and other markets.
Team and working principles
The company describes a team made up of developers, ecommerce strategists, designers, marketing specialists, and support staff. Among the qualities it says it looks for in those who join are proactivity, responsibility for one's own work, reliability, curiosity, and friendliness.
Its stated principles revolve around four ideas: integration as a central element, absorbing complexity so the client does not have to manage it, a partnership relationship beyond launch, and specialisation over generalisation.
Resources and support services
The platform complements its offering with an add-ons store and additional integrations, a help centre with a knowledge base, a public product roadmap, and a service status page. It also publishes case studies, guides, a blog with content on ecommerce and ERP integration, and an FAQ section. The company also organises its presence at industry events and maintains a partner programme aimed at generating recurring revenue by adding ecommerce to its clients' offering.
