About Pulse

Pulse: lending infrastructure and real-time financial intelligence

Pulse is a data and software-as-a-service (SaaS) company founded in 2016 that integrates public, private and alternative data to facilitate real-time, information-driven financial decisions. Its offering is built around two main products: the Unified Lending Interface (ULI) and the Business Insights platform.

The company has a team of more than 100 people distributed between the UK and India, and operates with a verified dataset of more than 7 million SMEs and 360 billion data points from banking and business operations.

Unified Lending Interface (ULI)

The ULI connects lenders, brokers and businesses through a standardised interface that replaces fragmented systems. According to the company, it reduces loan application time to under 3 minutes and the average credit decision time to 45 seconds. Integration is via API, with a go-live time of 4 weeks.

The ULI includes several modules:

  • Lending as a Service: turns lending capability into a native, fast, contextual and scalable function.
  • Embedded Lending: embeds lending into the customer's business flow.
  • Einstein aiDeal: AI-driven decisioning engine that automates high-volume credit decisions with real-time data and risk models.
  • Pulse LOS and Pulse LMS: loan origination and loan management systems.

Business Insights: financial analytics for businesses and institutions

Business Insights is an analytics platform designed for businesses, banks, lenders and accountants. It transforms financial data into automated, decision-ready intelligence. It includes the following modules:

  • OneView: provides a complete view of a business's financial health from snapshots and banking data.
  • aiPredict: AI-driven cash flow forecasting tool that runs scenarios using current and historical data.
  • DebtorIQ: accounts receivable intelligence module that provides real-time visibility into outstanding invoices, debtor risk and payment behaviour.

The company states that its platform has 85% coverage across accounting software and a 90% adoption rate among target users.

Integrations and security

Pulse offers secure enterprise-grade API integrations that connect Open Banking and Open Accounting in regulated environments. The company states that its data is fully encrypted and protected with the latest security measures. It holds ISO 27001:2022 and ISO/IEC 27701 certifications, and complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Partner and customer ecosystem

Pulse works with technology and service providers to expand the capabilities of its products. Among the success stories mentioned are Binq, a UK fintech app that uses AI and open banking to help SMEs make financial decisions, and LoanTube, a UK loan comparison platform that connects consumers with multiple lenders. Through its group, the company operates Nucleus Commercial Finance as a commercial lender.

The company has received several awards: in 2024 it was named Best DaaS Provider of the Year (Data) at the Global BankTech Awards and won Data and Analytics Project of the Year at the National Technology Awards.
