1852 Yachts: luxury private cruises in Athens and the Greek islands

1852 Yachts is a yacht charter company based on the Athenian coast that operates a fleet of luxury vessels for private tours around the Saronic Gulf and the Cycladic islands. The company presents itself as specializing in exclusive experiences, with professional crew service and personalized attention for groups of up to 12 passengers, although it recommends a maximum of 6 to 8 people for greater comfort.

Premium vessel fleet

The 1852 Yachts fleet is made up of high-end models that combine power, safety and lounging areas. Among the available vessels are:

  • Pardo 43
  • Pardo 38
  • Wally One 44 Limited Edition
  • Tesoro T40
  • Riva Rivale 52
  • Riva Vertigo 63
  • De Antonio 42
  • Chris Craft Launch 36

These vessels are designed to cruise comfortably in the open sea and also to reach remote coves and uninhabited islets. They feature spacious decks, sunbathing areas, shade, an onboard bar, snorkeling gear, beach towels, paddleboards and other water toys.

Destinations and types of cruise

The company organizes itineraries along the Athens Riviera and the islands of the Saronic Gulf, with departures from marinas such as Glyfada, Zea (Piraeus) and Lavrio. The tours are classified as standard, extended, special and alternative. Common destinations include:

  • Athens Riviera: coastal sailing towards Sounio with stops for swimming, snorkeling and snacks.
  • Aegina Island: crossing through the Saronic with a stop at the main harbor for lunch or a visit to the island.
  • Moni and Perdika: swimming and snorkeling at Moni Islet and, on a full day, lunch at a family taverna in the fishing harbor of Perdika.
  • Kea (Tzia): departure from Lavrio towards the first of the Cycladic islands, with a stop beneath the Temple of Poseidon.
  • Poros: secluded cove for swimming and a visit to the main harbor for lunch.
  • Hydra: stop to swim in a cove and lunch at a local restaurant.
  • Hydra & Beyond: a combination of a private beach and a visit to Hydra with lunch at an upscale restaurant.
  • Petalioi Islands: from Lavrio, sailing through a mini archipelago of ten islands with turquoise waters.

In addition, themed experiences are offered such as an onboard business consulting tour with an expert in Greek philosophy, storytelling of myths and legends, culinary experiences with wine and spirits tasting, wellness treatments with a personal trainer or masseur, celebration packages for proposals, weddings or anniversaries, and visits to historical sites such as the Battle of Salamis or to docks and shipyards.

Onboard services and extras

Tour prices are presented as final and all-inclusive, and include vessel, skipper and crew, taxes, fees, VAT and fuel. The onboard culinary offering consists of charcuterie boards and fresh seasonal fruit, premium Greek wines (one bottle for every two adults), soft drinks, water and ice. Beach towels, snorkeling gear, paddleboard (weather permitting), water toys, deck shower, sun beds, shade, swim platform with ladder, full bathroom, cabin, sound system, WiFi and chargers are also provided.

Hot lunches on board are not included, although a stop for lunch at the destination can be arranged; neither is babysitting service, routes not agreed in advance or gratuities, which are left to the client's discretion. As optional extras at additional cost, the company can arrange transfers from a hotel or villa in a luxury minivan, airport pickup, guided tours, packages for special occasions, wellness services, additional crew and alcoholic beverages or spirits at market price.

Crew and service philosophy

The 1852 Yachts team is made up of professionals with certifications and experience in the sector, many of them locals raised in the area. The company highlights its previous experience serving private superyachts and megayachts, and describes its style as authentic, discreet and attentive Greek hospitality. All members speak fluent English, some as native speakers.

Booking and cancellation policy

Bookings are handled via WhatsApp or email, with 24/7 attention according to the company. The client must indicate the date, group size and preferred duration (half day, full day or sunset cruise). Half-day cruises last approximately 4-5 hours and cover about 20 nautical miles; full-day cruises, 7-8 hours and 50 nautical miles. The sunset cruise along the Athens Riviera lasts between 1 and 2 hours.

The cancellation policy establishes a 100% refund for cancellations more than 15 days in advance, 50% between 15 and 8 days before, and no refund at later dates. A dossier expenses charge of €200 applies. If weather conditions prevent departure and the port authority does not authorize the crossing, a date change or full refund is offered. The company is not responsible for personal emergencies or travel interruptions unrelated to the operation.

Accessibility and logistics

The boarding and disembarking points are close to public transport and easily accessible, although not all vessels are wheelchair accessible. The company offers additional accessibility information available on request. The tours are private: only the booking group is on board, with no sharing with strangers.
