SPIC AND SPAN. Home & Office Cleaning is an online marketplace that connects private and commercial customers with experienced cleaners. The platform operates in Germany and also in Austria, Belgium, France, Italy, Luxembourg, Poland, Portugal, Spain, and Sweden. It is a registered trademark of A&K Ventures OÜ, a company founded in July 2016 by Karol Kaczmarek and Amadeusz Annissimo.

The service is presented as a solution for those who have moved to Germany for weeks, months, or years and do not speak the language: it allows you to choose an English-speaking cleaner at no extra cost. The company claims to have served over 25,000 customers since 2016.

How booking works

The process consists of three steps. First, the customer fills out a form indicating the type of cleaning, the date and time, the property address, and any special requests. Then they pay a deposit for the first hour, which is deducted from the final invoice. Finally, the platform assigns a verified cleaner who performs the work, and when finished, the customer receives a service summary.

The company states that booking can be completed in about 60 seconds. The cleaners offering their services on the website are background-checked, legally registered businesses.

Home and office cleaning services

The catalog distinguishes between one-time services and subscriptions. Regular basic cleaning, reserved for customers with a recurring schedule, starts at €28.90/hour. The customer selects the frequency in the form—weekly, every two, three, or four weeks—and it is even possible to arrange multiple cleanings per week. No long-term contracts or prepayment for multiple appointments are required: to cancel, pause for a few weeks, or skip dates, you just need to send an email 48 hours before the next cleaning.

For those who need a one-off service or greater flexibility, there are one-time basic cleaning, last-minute basic cleaning, and deep cleaning options. The latter includes post-construction cleaning, thorough dust removal, and pre-move-out inspection cleaning, with a reduced price for the cleaning team. The platform also offers office cleaning with custom quotes, flexible plans for small businesses, and legally registered professionals.

Payments and cancellations

The first-hour deposit confirms the booking and is deducted from the total. Cash payments are not accepted. Once the service is completed, the customer receives a summary by email and, 48 hours later, the balance is automatically charged using the payment method provided. The customer can pay early or change the method via the link included in the summary email, and manage their payment methods from their dashboard. It is also possible to pay by bank transfer upon request, although some providers require a pre-authorized online payment method to confirm the booking.

Cancellations are communicated to customer support by email or phone, indicating the appointment date and the customer's name or email. If made at least 48 hours in advance, 100% of the deposit is refunded.

Customer support and coverage

English-language support is available seven days a week. Phone support operates from 8:00 to 18:00, Monday to Sunday; email is monitored 24 hours a day, every day, and the website chat operates during the same hours as the phone. The company notes that cleaners can be male or female, and that the common term "cleaning lady" does not imply that only women work.

The platform is available in Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt, Kaiserslautern, Hamburg, Stuttgart, and Cologne.
