About Camping Borken am See

Camping Borken am See: Family Glamping by Pröbstingsee

Camping Borken am See is a family campground beside Pröbstingsee, about 10 kilometers from Bocholt in Germany’s Münsterland region. It presents itself as a nature retreat with amenities designed for families, particularly children up to about age 13. The campground says it remains open through October 5, 2026.

Accommodations: Mobile Homes, Safari Tents, and Pitches

Accommodations fall into three main groups: mobile homes (Mobilheime), safari tents (Safarizelte), and pitches (Stellplatz). The mobile homes and safari tents have fully equipped kitchens, private bathrooms, toilets, and covered porches; heating can be used during the low and shoulder seasons. Pitches can be booked with a private bathroom for guests bringing a caravan, motorhome, or tent.

Mobile-home models include Excellent A/C, Classic, Comfort Deluxe A/C, Country A/C, Excellent Deluxe, Family XL, Prestige Deluxe A/C, Borken Deluxe, and Titan A/C, with two to four bedrooms and approximate areas of 24 to 48 square meters. Safari-tent options include Nature Lodge, Woody, Borky, Comfort, XXL, Village, Grand Lodge, Cottage, and Safari Lodge, with two to four bedrooms and 27 to 76 square meters. The XXL model has two bathrooms and raised bunk beds. A luxury wooden chalet is also available, with air conditioning, two bedrooms, and about 45 square meters.

Pitches are grouped as Comfort, Medium, XL, and Classic, with approximate areas of 80 to 125 square meters, electrical hookups (16 amps for several options), and, depending on the category, a private bathroom. The listed capacity is four adults plus two additional people.

Facilities and Activities on the Grounds

The campground has a lake with a beach and swimming area, a children’s water-play park, inflatable mats and trampolines, several playgrounds with climbing structures, adventure mini golf, and a kiosk or pool bar. An outdoor recreation center with an extensive treetop climbing course is next door, and the complex has its own restaurant, Borken am See.

Other amenities include a brasserie, electric-vehicle charging stations, tennis courts (six outdoor and three indoor), pedal-boat rentals about two kilometers away, and a campground app. During school-holiday season (July 17–August 20, 2027), the campground organizes a program with a mini disco, crafts, sports and games, and photo opportunities with Borky the Bear.

Surroundings and Day Trips

The campground is a base for outings around the region: Aquarius swimming pool in Borken is about four kilometers away; Movie Park Germany in Bottrop is about 39 kilometers away; Ketteler Hof adventure park in Haltern am See is about 35 kilometers away; and pony rides in Isselburg are about 28 kilometers away. Nearby golf courses are in Winterswijk, Ahaus, Reken, Schermbeck, and Wesel. The flat landscape and short distances between attractions make cycling and walking routes accessible for all ages.

Reservations and Stays with Pets

The campground offers accommodations suited to guests traveling with dogs and provides separate phone numbers for reservations and reception. The website said 2027 rates were available and bookings were open; it also publishes an inspiration blog about glamping and getaways in Germany.
