About Puntacana Resort & Club

Puntacana Resort & Club: resort and residential complex in Punta Cana

Puntacana Resort & Club is a resort and residential destination located in the Punta Cana area of the Dominican Republic. The complex spans more than 15,000 acres and presents itself as a model Caribbean golf and beach resort. Its offerings include hotel and residential community accommodations, a spa, two championship golf courses, an ecological reserve with 15 natural springs, a full-service marina, several restaurants, a shopping village, and Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ).

Accommodations: hotels and villas

The complex integrates several lodging options. Tortuga Bay is a member hotel of Leading Hotels of the World and the only hotel in the Dominican Republic awarded the AAA Five Diamond award, according to the site's information. It is located in a private enclave within the resort and features 13 luxury beachfront villas, with one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom suites and interiors designed by Oscar de la Renta. Guests at Tortuga Bay are greeted as VIPs at Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) and have a streamlined immigration and customs process. The hotel is home to Oscar de la Renta's first resort boutique.

The Westin Puntacana Resort is located on Playa Blanca beach, just minutes from the airport, and offers 200 ocean-view rooms, restaurants, meeting and wedding facilities, a large outdoor pool, a Beach Club lobby bar, a cigar bar, the Westin Family Kids Club, walking trails, and access to white-sand beaches. It also has a 24-hour business center and the Westin WORKOUT Fitness Studio. Round-trip airport transportation is included at no charge in the package, as indicated on the site.

Four Points by Sheraton Puntacana Village is located across from Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ), in the heart of a commercial area with direct access to the shopping and dining options at Galerías Puntacana. It is a short drive from the white-sand beaches of Playa Blanca, top-tier golf courses, and Santo Domingo via the nearby Coral Highway.

Residential communities and vacation rentals

The resort is home to several residential communities. Corales is an exclusive oceanfront community, managed as a private membership club, with homes located on one of the golf courses designed by architect Tom Fazio. Playa Serena consists of 14 custom beachfront home sites, each with more than 125 feet of Caribbean Sea frontage; the area is named because it is protected by a natural barrier reef that keeps the waters calm. Arrecife offers views of the Caribbean Sea and the back nine of the La Cana golf course, designed by P.B. Dye, with home sites ranging from one-third of an acre to more than half an acre. Hacienda is a new residential community with uniquely designed villas and home sites of approximately half an acre, where P.B. Dye collaborated with Puntacana Resort to create the complex's first inland golf course.

The Estates Experience offers vacation rentals as a more private alternative to hotel accommodations, with villas or apartments featuring a pool and views of the La Cana golf course, as well as oceanfront rentals.

Golf, spa, and natural surroundings

The complex has two championship golf courses. One of them, La Cana, was designed by P.B. Dye, and its back nine is mentioned as an attraction of the Arrecife neighborhood. The other, at Corales, was designed by Tom Fazio. The spa, called The Spa, is part of the facilities. The resort's ecological reserve is home to 15 natural springs. The full-service marina and the shopping village with several restaurants complete the service offerings.

Pack for a Purpose initiative

The complex's hotels are members of Pack for a Purpose, an initiative that allows travelers to bring supplies for local schools or medical clinics. The site invites guests to use available space in their luggage to contribute to community projects at the destination.
