Another Kind

Another Kind, multifunctional furniture designed in Denmark

Another Kind is a furniture brand that designs in Denmark and produces in the Baltic. Its approach focuses on pieces that adapt to the changing needs of domestic spaces, with functionality, aesthetics and quality as design criteria. The company describes its origin as an ambition: to create a different kind of furniture that fits people's real lives.

The AK Sleeper Sofa

The main product is the AK Sleeper Sofa, a piece that works as a sofa, single bed and double bed in one design. The transformation between sofa and bed takes seconds, according to the company. The catalogue price starts at €3,790.00 and includes taxes and import duties, with free shipping within the European Union.

Other products and accessories

• AK Storage box: storage box, €350.00.
• AK Table: extendable table, announced as coming soon.
• AK Bird: product announced as coming soon.
• Accessories: fabric samples, covers, mattress and pillows.

Shipping and delivery

The company ships throughout the European Union, Switzerland, Norway and the United Kingdom. Orders are prepared for dispatch within 1 to 5 business days, unless otherwise stated on the product page. Once dispatched, the estimated delivery time is 5 to 20 business days depending on the destination. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on the delivery country.

Furniture is delivered on a pallet by a professional carrier, with curbside delivery, meaning at the entrance of the building or property. The carrier does not bring the furniture inside the home. The company recommends having two people available to move the packages indoors. The carrier contacts the customer beforehand to arrange a date and time.

Orders arrive flat-packed for easier transport. The heaviest package weighs approximately 25 kg. Assembly takes approximately one hour and requires only a screwdriver. Printed instructions and video assembly guides are included.

Customs and final prices

The price paid at checkout is the final price. Another Kind handles the customs process and any applicable import duties, so the customer does not receive unexpected customs invoices. Any country-specific exceptions are communicated before completing the purchase.

Note on damage, missing items and addresses

The company asks you to inspect the delivery upon arrival. If the packaging shows visible damage, it requests photographs before opening the packages, noting the damage with the carrier if possible, and contacting within 48 hours of delivery, stating the order number and photos. For missing items, it also asks you to contact within the following 48 hours; some small components may be inside larger boxes. If an order is returned due to an incorrect address or inability to deliver, additional reshipping charges may apply.

Shopping experience and showroom

The website allows you to book a call for an online showroom experience and watch a live demo with a Q&A session. The company also mentions the possibility of visiting a showroom. The site is available in several languages, including English, Danish, Dutch, Estonian, Swedish, Spanish, Portuguese, Polish, Luxembourgish, Italian, Greek, German, French and Norwegian, and operates with multiple currencies.
