Luo Hong Art Museum: Nature Photography and Art in Beijing
Luo Hong Art Museum (罗红摄影艺术馆) was founded by photographer and entrepreneur Luo Hong and opened in August 2016 in Beijing’s Shunyi District. Luo Hong, founder of the Black Swan brand, is known as a nature photographer and environmental activist. He funded the project in full, and construction took six years.
The museum presents itself as a place for quiet and contemplation, combining natural beauty with craftsmanship. Its three main areas are a photography exhibition hall, a collection of Eastern-style gardens, and the Black Swan Cake Art Museum.
Luo Hong’s Permanent Exhibition
The museum permanently displays a selection of landscape and wildlife photographs Luo Hong took around the world over the course of two decades. The exhibition offers a broad view of the beauty of Earth and life, with the stated aim of inspiring visitors to respect and appreciate nature.
Eastern-Style Gardens and Architecture
The grounds include a collection of gardens inspired by Eastern design, which form part of the museum experience. The landscaped area is integrated with the building’s architecture to create a setting intended to encourage calm and connection with nature.
Black Swan Cake Art Museum
The Black Swan Cake Art Museum (黑天鹅蛋糕艺术馆) is one of the complex’s three main areas. It is devoted to the pastry world of the Black Swan brand, founded by Luo Hong, and adds a food and craft dimension to a visit.
Dining and Places to Rest
Visitors can find a café, a dessert area, a light-cuisine restaurant, and a French fine-dining restaurant on the grounds. These spaces provide places to rest and eat during a visit to the museum.
