About Wholehearted Dental

Wholehearted Dental, dental clinic in Kitsilano (Vancouver)

Wholehearted Dental is a dental clinic located in the Kitsilano neighbourhood of Vancouver, British Columbia. The practice operates under this name following the rebranding of The Marshall Clinic, retaining the same professional team. It serves families in Vancouver and the surrounding areas with an approach that combines general, cosmetic, and restorative dentistry.

The clinic presents itself as a space designed for patients who feel stress or uncertainty about the dentist, with particular attention to comfort and clarity in explaining treatments.

General and preventive dentistry

Services include check-ups and preventive hygiene, as well as family dentistry. General procedures include bonding and white fillings, dental sealants, root canal treatment, extractions — including wisdom teeth — and treatment of temporomandibular joint disorders (TMJ/TMD).

The clinic also offers emergency dental care, with same-day appointments when availability allows, and IV sedation for anxious patients.

Crowns, dentures, and implants

Wholehearted Dental provides crowns and bridges, including single-visit crowns using CEREC technology. It also makes dentures and offers dental implants as a solution to replace missing teeth, with a prior consultation to assess the suitability of the treatment.

Cosmetic dentistry and orthodontics

The cosmetic area covers digital smile design, teeth whitening, veneers, and smile design, as well as full mouth rehabilitation. In orthodontics, the clinic works with clear aligners, specifically the SureSmile system, and offers virtual monitoring for patients who cannot easily visit the clinic.

Airway-centred dentistry and technology

The clinic includes airway-centred dentistry among its services. On the technology side, it uses 3D imaging and digital smile design, and offers virtual consultations. Hygiene is performed using air polishing.

Professional team

The team consists of Dr. Matthew Choi and Dr. Bruce Marshall, both general dentists. Matthew Choi studied Biochemistry and earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of British Columbia (UBC) in 2013; he previously practised in Cranbrook, in the Kootenay Rockies, before returning to Vancouver. Bruce Marshall is a graduate of UBC's Doctor of Dental Medicine program and continues a family tradition in dentistry; he has completed advanced courses in surgery, prosthetics, and aesthetics, and frequently gives dental lectures in Vancouver.

Patient care and accessibility

The centre has its own paid parking, public transit access, and wheelchair access, with comfortable seating and entertainment. It also allows booking multiple appointments at once and offers quick check-ups with short wait times.
