KODAK Lens Vision Centres: eye care and eyewear in the Toronto area

KODAK Lens Vision Centres is a network of vision care and optical centres operating in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). The company presents itself as "Toronto's Premier Eye Care and Eyewear Centres" and serves the Greater Toronto community from its various locations. Its activity combines optometric care with the sale of prescription glasses, contact lenses and eye care products, with a special connection to KODAK lens technology.

Eye exams and optometric services

The core service is the comprehensive eye exam, which the company describes as a complete visual analysis using the latest technology to assess eye health and determine the most accurate prescription. The offering includes adult, senior and pediatric exams, as well as its own visual exam called EyeTrust Visual Analysis. Dry eye therapy, myopia control and orthokeratology (ORTHO-K), low vision care and specific exams for police and RCMP members are also offered.

In terms of diagnosis, the site states that retinal photography and OCT scans are performed for the detection and monitoring of eye diseases such as macular degeneration. The company also manages referrals to ophthalmologists (OMD) and offers ocular health management with routine screenings and patient education. For eye care emergencies, the centre states that it manages the visit to address immediate eye health needs.

Prescription glasses, contact lenses and KODAK lenses

The company sells prescription glasses with a selection of over 1,000 frames from brands ranging from smart options to designers and luxury labels. The service includes expert fitting with custom measurements, adjustments for greater comfort and repairs. It also offers safety eyewear and a style guide called LOOK BOOK to help choose the right lens.

For contact lenses, the centre offers professional fitting, specialty contact lenses and the option to order lenses online. The site highlights KODAK lens technology, which it presents as capable of delivering rich, vibrant colours with sharp detail, and encourages customers to consult its professionals about the benefits of these lenses according to lifestyle. In addition, nutraceutical products, eyewear accessories and eye care products such as dry eye drops are sold.

Promotions and patient programs

The site's promotions catalogue includes 10% off for new or referred patients on any eyewear package or contact lens purchase, 10% off for people over 65 on the purchase of new prescription glasses (frame and lenses) and discounts of up to 60% on selected frames, with the indication that these are final sale. Savings of up to $75 on ACUVUE OASYS MAX 1-Day and ACUVUE OASYS 1-Day products for 6- and 12-month supplies are also announced, with a promotion running from August 17 to September 27. The company maintains a news and offers page with current promotions.

Pricing and complementary services

The comprehensive eye exam starts at $98 and the company states that it can bill most insurance companies directly. Pupillary distance (PD) measurement for glasses is not included in the prescription; it is offered as a professional measurement consultation for $30, which includes PD measurement (distance or near, monocular or binocular), lens recommendation and education, and frame recommendation and education. The site emphasizes that optical measurements should be performed by vision professionals and warns about the risks of buying online without those measurements.
