Dr. Fernanda Barona is a periodontist, specializing in the treatment of periodontal diseases and conditions related to implants. She graduated in Dentistry from the Catholic University of Guayaquil (Ecuador) in 2012 and completed a Master of Science in Craniofacial Science and postgraduate training in Periodontics at the University of British Columbia in 2017. She is a fellow-elect of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and a member of the American Academy of Periodontology. Her research has focused on the use of leukocyte- and platelet-rich fibrin in periodontal procedures and in implant and gingival reconstructions. She speaks English and Spanish.
Dr. Waseem Kassas is a general dentist with Canadian certification in Orthodontics and a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. Dr. Pavel Cherkas is an endodontist. He graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (Israel), where he also earned an M.Med.Sc. and a PhD in Neuroscience. He completed his Master's in Endodontics at the University of Toronto and the Royal College fellowship examinations. He is an Assistant Professor of Oral Physiology and Endodontics at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry, with research in endodontics, neurophysiology, and orofacial pain. He has conducted research at institutions including Cambridge (UK), Leipzig (Germany), and Tokyo (Japan), and has published in peer-reviewed journals, a textbook chapter, a clinical guideline, and numerous research abstracts. He is a member of the American Association of Endodontists, the Canadian Academy of Endodontics, and the Ontario Dental Association.
