ADR Garage Door Repair

ADR Garage Door Repair: residential garage doors in Ontario

ADR Garage Door Repair is a family-owned company that has been serving homeowners in Ontario since 2013. Its work focuses on the repair and installation of residential garage doors, with two operating bases: Richmond Hill and Barrie. From these locations, it serves the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and Simcoe County.

The company states that it is insured and covered by WSIB (Ontario's workplace safety insurance), and that it confirms the price before starting any work approved by the customer.

Diagnosis before deciding whether to repair or replace

ADR approaches its work in two scenarios. When a spring or cable fails, it is often possible to replace the part and keep the door. However, extensive panel damage, rust or recurring problems may make replacement worth considering. The company says it checks the connected components to locate the cause before recommending a repair, and that the customer does not need to identify the faulty part: it is enough to describe what they see or hear.

Repair services

• Springs: replacement of broken torsion springs, which can leave the door unusually heavy or prevent it from opening. A loud bang or a visible gap in the spring may be a clue.
• Cables: inspection of loose cables or doors that hang lower on one side, before operating them again.
• Openers: correction of remote, sensor, trolley or travel faults, also checking the door's movement and balance.
• Tracks, rollers and hardware: adjustment of worn rollers, loose hinges or misaligned tracks that cause shaking, scraping or rough travel.
• Maintenance and tune-up: inspection of moving parts to detect early wear.

Door and opener installation

For door replacement, ADR compares panel designs, insulation, windows and colours, measures the opening and confirms the selected door and installation scope before placing the order. For openers, it reviews the mounting space, compatibility with the door and desired features, then installs and programs the chosen unit. The company mentions compatibility with LiftMaster, Chamberlain and Craftsman models.

The website catalogue shows a replacement project at a brick home, where brown doors were replaced with white carriage-style doors with top windows and black decorative hardware.

Indicative pricing and conditions

The website publishes starting prices for the Greater Toronto Area: tune-up from CAD 89 plus HST; cable repair between CAD 165 and 265 plus HST; spring repair from CAD 195 plus HST; and opener repair from CAD 125 plus HST. For Simcoe County, there is a separate service page with its own pricing.

According to the site information, single-car insulated door packages start from CAD 1,250 plus HST, provided the conditions in the pricing guide are met. The company warns that size, model, windows, hardware and site conditions affect the installed price, and that financing through Financeit is subject to lender approval and terms.

Warranty and safety notices

Warranty coverage extends up to ten years on new door parts and up to five years on repair parts, with variations depending on the product and service. In the presence of signs such as one side of the door higher than the other, a cable hanging loose or out of its drum, a roller outside the track, an unusually heavy door or an opener that strains without moving it, the company recommends stopping operation, keeping people and vehicles away and requesting an inspection.

Coverage and service

ADR operates with two local teams, one in Richmond Hill and one in Barrie, each with its own phone number. Among the communities it says it serves are Vaughan, Markham, Aurora, Newmarket, King City, Woodbridge, Toronto, Mississauga, Innisfil, Bradford, Oro-Medonte, Springwater, Wasaga Beach, Orillia, Alliston and Angus, as well as Brampton, Ajax, Etobicoke and Pickering. The company is open daily from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. and offers appointments by phone or online; same-day availability depends on location, schedule and parts stock.
