Professional Team
The Dental Docs team is led by five general dentists with diverse training and backgrounds:
- Dr. John Kokkinakis: trained at McGill University, where he earned his science degree and Doctor of Dental Surgery. He served as a dental officer in the Canadian Armed Forces, with experience in forensic dentistry. He practices general dentistry, orthodontics, implant restoration, and treatment of gum recession with the pinhole technique. He speaks English, French, and Greek.
- Dr. Pierre Maranger: originally from northern Ontario, he studied pharmacology before graduating in dentistry from McGill. He has over 25 years of experience in general dentistry, with a special interest in orthodontics, complex restoration, and implantology. He is a fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.
- Dr. George Barlas: born in Athens and raised in Montreal, he completed his science and dentistry studies at McGill. He practices all aspects of general dentistry and has a notable focus on functional orthodontics, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) care, and treatment of sleep apnea with oral appliances.
- Dr. Marc Beaupré: born and raised in North Bay, Ontario. He graduated in Life Sciences from Queen's University and earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from Université Laval in 2002, where he received the Pierre Fauchard Academy Award. He is an active member of the Canadian Dental Association, the Ontario Dental Association, and the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario. He is also a fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and has been a member of the International Association of Orthodontists and an affiliate member of the American Dental Association. He has been part of Dental Docs (formerly Place D'Orleans Dental Office) since 2003. He has completed mini-residency programs in aesthetic dentistry, orthodontics, endodontics, CAD/CAM dentistry, and surgical implant placement, and has received training in Invisalign, CEREC, Odyssey diode laser, and ZOOM in Canada and the United States. He speaks French and English.
- Dr. Alexandre Poirier: raised in Orléans and a former patient of Dr. Kokkinakis, he returned to his community after studying medical sciences at the University of Ottawa and dentistry at the University of Sydney, Australia. He practices general family dentistry with a particular focus on CAD/CAM and same-day crowns using CEREC Primescan, Primemill, and SpeedFire. He is bilingual in English and French and lives in Gloucester.
