About Towne Square Orthodontics
Edmonton Orthodontics for Children, Teens, and Adults
Towne Square Orthodontics is an orthodontic clinic located in Edmonton, Alberta, serving patients of all ages. Their team works out of an office in the Terwillegar area and is accepting new patients. The clinic presents itself as a space designed to help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after each visit, and their staff speaks English and Mandarin.
In addition to in-person care, they offer virtual consultations via Zoom for those who prefer to evaluate their options remotely. The clinic also has a contact form for general inquiries and a dedicated channel for dentist referrals.
Treatments and Technology
The clinic uses LightForce technology for its bracket treatments. According to their description, LightForce 3D printed brackets are clear, offering a discreet look, and are designed based on each patient's dental anatomy and bite for a more comfortable fit. Digital impressions and treatment planning make these brackets efficient, accurate, and effective.
Among the treatment areas mentioned on the site are general orthodontics, Invisalign and clear aligner therapy, LightForce brackets, and orthodontic emergency care.
Care by Age Group
The clinic organizes part of its offering around three patient groups. For children, it notes that an early orthodontic evaluation is the best way to ensure a good start in oral health. For teens, it invites them to discover the benefits of orthodontic care at Towne Square Orthodontics. For adults, it states that it always takes the patient's desired outcome into account when recommending treatment options.
Professional Team
The team is led by two specialists. Dr. Sunny Leong, known as Dr. Sunny, has been practicing orthodontics since 2007. He trained at the University at Buffalo Dental School (2005), completed an orthodontic fellowship at the University of Florida (2006), and completed his orthodontic residency at the University of Minnesota (2008); he had previously studied nursing at the University of Alberta between 2000 and 2001. He has participated in seven dental volunteer trips to provide free care in various countries, including Colombia, Cambodia, Nicaragua, Belize, Peru, and Guatemala. He treats patients from South Edmonton, including areas such as Terwillegar South, Magrath Heights, Twin Brooks, Haddow, Windermere, and Riverbend, and also welcomes patients from Leduc, Beaumont, Devon, Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, Edson, Whitecourt, and Camrose.
Dr. Justin Kim is a registered orthodontic specialist in Southwest Edmonton. He earned his Bachelor of Medical Science and his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Alberta, practiced as a general dentist in High River, Alberta, and returned to the University of Alberta to complete a three-year orthodontic specialty program. He joined the team to work alongside Dr. Sunny.
Insurance and Payment Options
For patients with policies that include orthodontic coverage, the clinic offers direct insurance billing by accepting assignment of benefits. This means the patient does not have to submit monthly claims for reimbursement, as the clinic handles that process. The amount covered by the insurer is deducted, and the remaining balance is spread across a flexible payment plan with 0% interest. The clinic notes that it is possible to start treatment the same day as the visit if insurance information is provided when requesting the initial consultation.
Canadian Dental Care Plan Benefits
The site includes a notice for patients who may be eligible for Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) benefits, with links to renew or apply for coverage and to book an appointment if already covered.
