Flag Outlet Ltd.: Flags and Architectural Flagpoles Since 1982

Flag Outlet Ltd. is a Canadian family-owned company based in Coquitlam, British Columbia, operating since 1982. It began as a small shop in British Columbia dedicated to supplying flags and hardware to the Pacific Northwest region and, according to its own presentation, has become a Canadian benchmark in flag solutions for residential, commercial, and government use. The company describes itself as a recognized leader in the engineering, design, and manufacturing of professional-grade flagpole systems.

Flag Catalog

The catalog brings together more than 10,000 flags in various materials and sizes for indoor and outdoor use. The offering is organized into several families:

• Regional flags: Canada, provinces and territories, and military and historical flags.
• International flags, grouped alphabetically (A–C, D–K, L–O, P–S, T–Z).
• Novelty and specialty flags, sports and pride flags, historical and military flags, and solid colors.
• Custom flags: the company manufactures any flag to customer specification.

The site shows product examples with reference prices, such as the sewn and printed Canada flag ($30.00), the printed British Columbia nylon flag ($2.99), feather flags for businesses and local services ($40.00), or the Palestine flag ($3.95).

Flagpoles and Display Systems

The company designs and manufactures precision aluminum flagpoles for homes, estates, businesses, and institutions. It distinguishes three main lines:

• Cone tapered, presented as the standard of elegance and architectural strength.
• Step tapered, with a traditional industrial design for demanding applications.
• Economy tapered, for residential projects with a tight budget.

The flagpole catalog includes residential models (standard, step taper, wall mount, and nautical) and commercial models (cone taper, roof mount, outrigger, and internal halyard systems). The company states that its flagpoles are designed to withstand maximum wind loads and for long architectural life, and offers spec sheets upon request.

Feather Flags, Banners, and Hardware

In addition to flags and flagpoles, Flag Outlet sells feather flags and blade banners, event displays, and hardware kits. It has more than 2,000 components in stock for immediate dispatch, including wall brackets, ground sleeves, rope systems, ball finials, mounting bases, and spare parts.

Installation, Maintenance, and Rental Services

The company provides field services across Canada through a network of certified installers and mobile units. It offers maintenance and repair of flagpoles and hardware, with priority attention for damage or critical failures, and includes crane truck service for tall commercial flagpoles in major Canadian markets. It also rents flagpoles for special events, film sets, and temporary installations. For custom projects, it has licensed professional engineers (P.Eng) who can issue engineering letters when required. Technical coordination includes locating underground utilities (BC One Call, Ontario One Call, etc.) and managing clear airspace. According to the company, all its installers are insured with liability coverage of more than $5 million and comply with provincial occupational safety regulations (WCB/WSIB/CNESST).

Clients and Scope

Flag Outlet states that it serves municipalities, school boards, shopping centers, car dealerships, and hotels and resorts, as well as private homes and public administrations. Its service area is national, with coverage across Canada.
