About Café Gloriette Schönbrunn

Café Gloriette crowns the rise in Schönbrunn Park. Its windows look down the line of the gardens towards the palace: here the walk is part of the appeal of the cup. The historic building was conceived as a monumental finish to the Baroque landscape, while today's café has a bright dining room and outdoor tables. It is not the café beside the exit from the imperial apartments. From the palace courtyard you must cross the gardens and climb the hill, a point to consider if time or mobility is limited.

The café serves Viennese breakfasts, coffee and cakes as well as dishes from its menu. Its 2026 menu says it opens daily from 09:00 until one hour before the park closes; the homepage describes closing as dusk. The Sisi buffet runs on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 09:00 to 11:30, with advance booking valid only after confirmation by the team. Do not confuse that weekend buffet with the daily à la carte service. Hohenbergstraße and Meiereitor also provide access for those starting their visit at the upper end of the grounds.

The panorama and the room earn frequent praise, as do some breakfasts and the service on quieter days. Other visitors describe waits, uneven attention or prices they partly attribute to the setting. It works best when the Gloriette walk is already part of the itinerary, rather than as a quick stop requiring a rushed ascent and descent. Gerstner, by the courtyard, is the more direct choice after touring the palace interior.
